My 2week old Baby has Breast Buds with a little milk

Hello Mom,

It’s ok to be worried about what you are seeing, especially in a Little Human.

But you don’t need to worry, here’s why:-

Some babies (male & female) are born with swollen breast and sometimes a little milk can leak out.

This is called Neonatal Mastauxe.

Enlarged breast buds in babies is usually as a result of the residual maternal hormones in the babies.

As baby grows older, the hormonal level declines and the swelling subsides WITHOUT intervention!

Expressing, milking, pressing or massaging only prolongs milk production and leads to an ‘abscess’ formation (Big reddish pus-filled swelling which is extremely painful and will most times require antibiotics & surgical intervention!)

So

1. Grandma needs to STOP massaging ASAP.

2.No Mom, no drugs are required, just WATCHFUL waiting.

In love & health

Dr. Mims
